The NIFF 2010 team is very excited to kick off our 2010 year. We had a tremendous Oscar party event, made even sweeter by the Oscar win by the Cove. What an auspicious way for NIFF to start! Our upcoming Sex & City 2 Premiere Event will be a lot of fun, and we're excited to meet new friends who are excited about this year's film festival. What a lot of fun this has become! I am continually blown away by the strides we have made in such a short time.

Two weeks to go!!

Two weeks to go before the festival and I'm continually humbled by the stand out job our team has done. Our volunteer team never ceases to amaze me - not only are they eager to help us and the community be successful with this venture, but there's a general kinship among all of us - from varied age groups from 18 to 80 - who are looking to be part of something positive in SWFL, especially after the last year of bad news. I am incredibly proud of the job our Submissions team has done. The films are excellent and I think that attendees to the festival will be really surprised by the quality and the diversity that this festival offers. Lastly, we are working feverishly to finalize details on our live entertainment events at the Mercato at the "Field Of Dreams". This includea a whole children's portion of the film festival (children's movies and activities during day on 11/7). The live entertainment is free, so I hope people come in droves to experience what we have painstakingly put together. It has certainly been a roller coaster ride, and now.....I'm going to enjoy every minute of it.

Last night was a wonderful evening. We thank our partners, Piola, McCormick & Schmick's, Silverspot and Blue Martini who hosted our VIP group. The food and drinks were excellent, as was the company. It was a very succesful night for NIFF, as we had a chance to get to know some new faces, and previewed several trailers to the NIFF audience. The countdown to the festival is on. See you at the Movies!

The NIFF team attended the Silverspot Luxury Cinema for their grand opening last night, and all anyone could say was "Wow. Wow. Wow.". It is a beautiful venue with the most comfortable seats (like riding in a Cadillac), state of art sound and digital projectors. Having a wine bar and a restaurant on site is a great addition to the movie going experience. We are so blessed to have the opportunity to have our inaugural festival there. Thank you Silverspot and Mercato!!

Naples International Film Festival Update from the Marketing Department

This evening we kicked off another Volunteer event at In Trouble Zone Productions HQ.  Many new faces came to the meeting to learn about what we are doing with NIFF.  We are excited to see the level of commitment from the community and the enthusiasm and goodwill is palpable.

There were multiple updates shared at this meeting, including introduction of the venues for the event, including the Naples Philharmonic.  Most importantly, our Sponsor list continues to grow, with such standouts as Morgan Stanley, Pelican Marsh, Ave Maria, The Pub, McCormck & Schmicks and many others who have committed to the festival.  The Marketing team is in the midst of finalizing media activities this week as well facilitating in kind and sponsorship/fundraising elements as we get closer to kickoff on November 5th.  Our golf tournament, at Pelican Marsh, will be held on Sept 19th, please pass the word to any film buffs or golfers you may know.

Please continue to spread the word and sign up your friends and neighbors to our e-newsletter to get the most recent updates.
