What are the categories for 2011?

Full Length Features
Any original work of fiction at least 40 minutes.

Documentaries
Any non-fiction film of at least 40 minutes.

Shorts
Any narrative or documentary film 40 minutes or less.

Florida Films
The Florida Films category is intended to celebrate, encourage and support the production of films in the state of Florida. Documentary Feature, Narrative Feature or Short films with principal photography in Florida may submit in the Florida Film category. ***All Florida Films will automatically be entered into competition in the appropriate category (Short, Narrative, Documentary).

What are the general rules for submissions?

Entrants must submit two (2) copies of the film in DVD format (NTSC, Region 0 or 1) for consideration. NIFF will not consider trailers or rough edits for selection purposes.

Eligibility Requirements:
To be eligible for consideration, all films must meet the following requirements:

Entries must be in their original language with English subtitles when applicable.

Entries must be received by (NOT postmarked), by July 15, 2011.

Deadlines:
Final submission deadline is July 15, 2011. The Festival is not obligated to view late entries.

What are the festival dates?

This year the festival will be November 3-6, 2011. Filmmakers who attend the festival are also invited to the filmmaker dinner on November 2nd and a press conference on November 3rd.

What can I expect during the festival?

Visiting filmmakers are treated like VIPs during their stay. Our friendly hospitality team will assist you in making your travel plans, getting around town and help plan your itinerary. You will have access to the Filmmaker lounge, which is a great place to relax between screenings and to get to know the other filmmakers at the festival. Awards are given at the Closing Ceremonies, on Nov. 6.

How do I get to Naples?

Fort Myers International Airport (RSW) is the closest airport to Naples (30 minute drive). Ft. Lauderdale (90 minute drive) or Miami (2 hour drive) are also options.
